Come on Safari with us… the Tasmanian way

The safari is your luxury all inclusive stay and adventure tour, you will be immersed in the wonders of the river, its endemic animals and birdlife, regaled with first nations story telling, learn about sustainable agriculture, cold plunge after warming the soul in our woodfired sauna and dine on the finest produce and wines the farm and region has to offer.

Your Safari Guide

Your host will be Mat Routley, owner of the Swan River Sanctuary and native Tasmanian. The Sanctuary brings together his passions, moulded from extensive travel including living and observing nature in Africa to observing traditional, regenerative and sustainable farming methods in India.

He will quietly walk, float, observe and listen with you to bring to life the inside story of the land and river that is the back drop to the stunning setting of Swan River Sanctuary.

A great conversationalist, he has been educated, raised a family, been in business, developed cultural events, played sport and recreated in Tasmania over a lifetime and is a wealth of knowledge on all things involving the Apple Isle, all of which he is glad to share.
