Handcrafted Lodge
Nestled on the banks of the Swan River on Tasmania’s East Coast.
Large sliding doors and windows spill in light and the sounds of the riverbanks - drawing you into the panoramic views in all directions up and down the river or over the undulating farmland. Totally private with no others in sight.
The main living space and bedrooms are encased in Macrocarpa wood lining, giving a softness and warmth to the feeling inside. Design highlights such as an abalone shell wall, huge bohemian chandelier and a large stone fireplace that is perfect for winter open fires.
On the ground floor there are two queen bedrooms with bathroom and bath as well chef’s kitchen full the culinary enthusiasts. While the master king is found on the second level, with an in-room stone bath to take advantage of the sprawling views. A separate bathrooms adjoins to the master.
Your stay is always exclusive with full use of lodge, wood fired sauna and all amenities, not shared with other guests. Sleeps from 2 - 6 people.
DARK SKIES and AURORA
The Sanctuary is part of the growing global Dark Sky Movement.
Our seclusion and low ambient light sources mean crystal clear skies and star gazing right from the lodge.
Tasmania is a brilliant place to see the Southern Aurora, wide open skies at the sanctuary have brought some very clear sightings.
There is a lush green lawn that guests will find themselves sprawled upon, face up and in conversation pondering the wonders of the universe above.
